“Health is more valuable than gold”, so ?
Perhaps sentences such as "Health is worth thousands of gold", "Losing health is losing everything", each of us has heard a lot. However, if these statements really had an impact on people's health, then maybe not so many people would be sick, right?
Therefore, I will not spend time blogging just to give people cliché advice, “because I am a Pharmacist”, or information that people Google 15 seconds can find online.
I'm here to tell you my story. The story of a girl who spent 14 years in Pharmacy.
14 years journey and suddenly realized that I was still at the beginning
Returning to the past, about 20 years ago, when I was a little girl, skinny and fragile. Actually, I am only skinny but not too fragile, I rarely get sick. Thinking about it, being a child of a poor family also has a lot of good sides: Every day, I have to walk 2-3 km, climb the slope to school because there is no one to take me. Come to think of it, that situation has its good side – at least I did my sport.
For me at that time, my health simply did not have any serious illness, that was enough, I did not notice anything deeper.
Until puberty, lacked knowledge to take care of myself and had all the third gene, so I had severe acne. For the first time in my life, I knew the difficulty of going up and down Saigon, the difficulty of constantly loading antibiotics. And I also tasted the disordered digestive system, which was persisting later. The little girl who was me that day began to feel helpless, did not understand why she had to entrust herself to the doctor, but no one, including her mother or the doctor, could guarantee that she would be better, or worse. For someone who likes self-control like me, the feeling that I can't control my fate is very obnoxious.
The little girl that I was that day really didn't understand why I had to hand myself over to the doctor, but no one, including my mother or the doctor, could guarantee me that I would get better, or worse.
So when choosing the school to take the university exam, I thought, well, the health sector is not bad, at least I will know what to use effectively for myself, for my family, do not need to close my eyes to listen to the doctor because I do not know anything anymore. When I thought about studying Medicine, I kept the doctor awake at night, so I chose to study Pharmacy.
Then I steped out into the wider world.
When faced with the choice of studying abroad, I still keep the simple logic, "Drugs in Vietnam are not effective because of poor drug production, then I have to go to school where people produce good drugs". I heard a lot about the famous French medicine, so I went to France.
A few years later, when I faced with the choice of sub-sector, I persisted with the old logic, "What is the best manufacturing technology, it's my choice". So I chosen biotechnology.
Going to work for a few years, one day, I suddenly realized, french medicines are truly high quality, biotechnology is truly an advanced technology. However, going such a long way, I'm still just a helpless little girl as I was in the past. It seems, medicine, is not the answer to health?
Going such a long way, I'm still just a helpless little girl every day. It seems, medicine, is not the answer to health?
The "sickness" industry
How about medicine? Almost every time I get sick, all the drugs I learnt don't help me that much.
What about expensive medecines from biotechnology? Most of them are prescribed when the disease is very serious and then used to withstand, really expensive, but just to alleviate symptoms, there are very few drugs that return the health to the patient, as they were before. That is not to mention the number of side effects that sometimes make people half-dead, but despite knowing that patients still have to close their eyes to drink, what else can be done?
I have also experienced such a drug, to treat the hateful acne that has followed me since puberty. As a result, acne disappeared for a few years, but it also takes my body a few years to get rid of the bundle of side effects. I never dare to touch that drug again (for example, one of the side effects: causing fetal malformations, so those who take that drug are prohibited from pregnancy for several months later).
That is not to mention the number of side effects that sometimes make people half-dead, but despite knowing that patients still have to close their eyes to drink, what else can be done?
And often, when people run out of ways, remember that I work in Pharmacy industry in France, text me to ask if there is any medicine "that can save my loved one/myself", my answer is "I'm sorry, there is no medicine at the moment" or "the effectiveness of the medicine is not very high, depending on the patient, let's hope so".
The funny thing is that after getting the "Doctor in Pharmacy" degree, my argument every time I get a sore throat is "oh, nothing in the pharmacy is as effective as my jar of garlic and ginger honey ". Being in the pharmaceutical industry for so many years, at one point I realized that I was in the "sickness" industry, not the "wellness" industry. That is, I mainly learn to handle sickness, what to do to reduce the disease, but the knowledge of "what to do when I am healthy to become healthier" is not the main topic at school.
Being in the pharmaceutical industry for so many years, at one point I realized that I was in the "sickness " industry, not the "wellness" industry.
Fortunately, in this era of information overabundance, I don't need to spend another 6 years going to school to learn about wellness, I simply find out for myself. Finally, the knowledge of body biology, cell biology is not as useless for my life as I thought ^^. And my health gradually improved. Many problems that medecines can't help me, simple and safer things can improve the situation.
Happy body
So, in the coming weeks , I will arrange to write a series of articles about "Happy Body" to share what I learned and my experiences. I hope to bring you useful information, practical and easy-to-apply methods in daily life.
I don't expect that after an article, suddenly people will turn to actively take care of their health right away. I'm simply doing my job of sowing seeds. Maybe the rain will soak for a long time, one day one of the seeds we sow will sprout. And someone who follow my blog suddenly realized, "Take care of your health while you still have it".

Here is my story. How about you, how is your experience with drinking water? I would really appreciate it if you could leave a comment to share with me, and help me share this post so the information can reach more people!
