The Struggles and Helplessness Behind the Word “Cancer”
Cancer has long been a terrifying diagnosis. When we hear about it, we often think of complex treatments like chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and costly medications. But have you ever wondered why many patients still face the risk of recurrence, even after undergoing these rigorous treatments? Do current therapies truly address the root cause of this disease?
Many patients and their loved ones endure the long journey of battling cancer, going through rounds of treatments, only to find that the outcome is often just “management” rather than a “cure.” This is a difficult question that has haunted me for years as I’ve delved into the pharmaceutical and healthcare fields.
If you take a closer look at how these treatments work and their side effects, you’ll realize that “all cancer drugs are toxic.” That’s why I decided to write about this topic—to explore with you what might be the right path for preventing and treating this complex disease.

Anti-Cancer Drugs: A Mass Murderer That Also Targets the Innocent
I’ve encountered many patients who have undergone every possible treatment—from surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation to medications advertised as “anti-cancer” or “cancer-cell inhibitors.”
In reality, many chemotherapy drugs cannot distinguish between cancer cells and healthy cells, especially fast-dividing cells like those in bone marrow, the lining of the mouth and intestines, or hair follicles. This leads to severe side effects such as weakened immunity, mucosal ulcers, diarrhea, and hair loss. Essentially, these treatments poison cells, indiscriminately killing both cancerous and healthy cells.
Moreover, most current anti-cancer drugs work by killing cancer cells or halting their growth. Unfortunately, cancer cells are never stationary; they mutate and adapt remarkably, sometimes even becoming resistant to drugs after a short period.
As an elderly patient once shared with me:“Every round of treatment feels like dying and coming back to life, yet the cancer cells always return. It’s like an endless cycle.”
This isn’t just an individual’s experience; it’s the story of millions of cancer patients worldwide. Chemotherapy drains the body, weakens the immune system, and leaves patients trapped in a painful cycle of drugs and illness.
So why can’t drugs be the ultimate solution for cancer? The truth is that these treatments focus only on symptoms, not the underlying causes. Cancer isn’t just a cluster of abnormal cells; it’s also a sign that the body’s overall immune system and health are compromised. Treating only the symptoms is like “pouring water on a fire” without addressing what ignited the flames.

A Pharmacist’s Perspective: Is There an Alternative Approach?
If anti-cancer drugs can’t fully cure the disease, is there another way? Increasingly, studies suggest that beyond conventional treatments, the body’s overall health—particularly the immune and digestive systems—plays a vital role in naturally and sustainably preventing and managing cancer.
According to Dr. Hiromi Shinya, “Healthy food and quality water are the foundations of health.” He emphasizes that instead of relying solely on medication, we must focus on maintaining essential enzymes through a nutritious diet. These enzymes not only aid digestion but are also the “key” to optimizing immune system function. Similarly, Dr. Fereydoon Batmanghelidj highlights that water is the simplest “medicine” the body needs to avoid cellular stress, a major factor in immune system weakness that leaves the body vulnerable to complex diseases like cancer.
By making small daily efforts—staying hydrated, consuming fresh fruits and vegetables rich in enzymes and vitamins—you help your body nourish itself and maintain its “natural defense” against potential risks.
